Blizzard has introduced some changes to the Recruit A Friend system inWorld of Warcraft, allowing players to bring their friends back into the game with even greater ease. The Recruit A Friend referral program made its debut in 2008, where it awarded players with anexclusiveWorld of Warcraftmountif they got their friends to start an adventure in Azeroth. Since then, it has returned several times with many different rewards before Blizzard temporarily suspended the program in 2019.

This restriction is changing in a big way, as Blizzard has chosen to decrease the two-year requirement for inactiveWorld of Warcraftplayers down to just twelve months without a subscription. Though the change is more than welcome in theWorld of Warcraftcommunity, it would seem that Blizzard is targetingWorld of Warcraftplayers who left forFinal Fantasy 14in the mass exodus last year, a shift that saw several content creators such as Asmongold and a sizable chunk of its population move to Square Enix’s flagship MMO.
ManyWorld of Warcraftfans would agree that it’s a good time to return to Azeroth, asDragonflightis shaping up to be the redemption story the franchise sorely needed after the shortcomings ofShadowlands. With the opening of the Vault of the Incarnates raid, the inaugural season ofDragonflightpromises an electrifying race to take down Raszageth before she has a chance to free her siblings from their prison.Dragonflighthas now entered the stage that will make or break the expansion – the honeymoon phase is over, and its endgame is now front-and-center. Whether newcomers to Azeroth or returning veterans, the Dragon Isles will at least keep players occupied for the next few months.
