TheWorld War Zvideo game wasfirst announced at The Game Awards 2017, and since then it has been favorably compared toLeft 4 Dead. Now that the game is out in the wild, first impressions seem to be mostly positive, with some reviewers saying that the game succeeds in scratching thatLeft 4 Deaditch. However, theWorld War Zlaunch hasn’t been perfect, with the game suffering from numerous issues at launch, including a crashing bug that seems to be impacting all platforms.

TheWorld War Zcrashing bug forces players to do a hard reset to fix it. It’s been reported for all platforms, but PC players seem to be having the worst luck with theWorld War Zcrashing bug. Developers Saber Interactive are aware of the issues plaguing the game and are working on fixes.

In the meantime,World War Zis also suffering from server connectivity issues. The PS4 version ofWorld War Zin particular appears to be having issues with connectivity, though problems have been reported on PC and Xbox One as well. Server connectivity issues are common for online-oriented games on launch day, so hopefully Saber Interactive is able to iron them out sooner rather than later.

World War Zappears to be enjoying a stronger reception than many anticipated. The game was released quietly with a budget price point today, and there are hardly any reviews out in the wild. Despite this, those that have reviewed it seem to have mostly positive opinions about the game, and perhaps that influence combined with the low price has convinced more people to pick it up than Saber Interactive expected.

If Saber Interactive is able to fix the technical issues with the game, then it may very well have a surprise hit on its hands. Whether or not the game is able to live up to theLeft 4 Deadcomparisonsremains to be seen, but it will be very interesting to see how the community reacts to the game in the coming weeks.

World War Zis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
