Here’s how Wavelenght system works inWuthering Waves, its use cases, and some tips on how to effectively use it.
Waveplate Recharge Rate in Wuthering Waves
Each account regenerates1 Waveplate every 6 minutes, allowing players to recharge 240 Waveplates in 24 hours, which matches the current maximum storable Waveplates per day. Since there is no additional storage method for Waveplates once they cap, players should log in at least once a day, or preferably twice, to avoid wasting this valuable game resource.
Upon clicking the top right section with Waveplate icon, players can also see when they will gain the next point, and when they will cap.
Waveplate Recharge Methods in Wuthering Waves
Outside of waiting for the recharge timer, players can instantly regenerate additional Waveplates using various materials. The primary method is the Crystal Solvent, (similar to Fragile Resin inGenshin Impact, and Fuel inHonkai: Star Rail) a consumable that replenishes 60 Waveplates instantly.Players can find this resource in their Backpack or by clicking the plus sign next to the Waveplate count, where it appears as an option if available. Currently, Crystal Solvent is relatively rare and obtainable through in-game rewards such as the Pioneer Podcastand gift codes. Therefore, players should use this resource cautiously due to its limited availability.
Another method for instantly recharging Waveplates is by using 60 Asterite to obtain 60 Waveplates. Players can do this up to six times a day. However, since Asterite is one of the most valuable resources and crucial foracquiring more characters through Gacha, it is not recommended for F2P players to use this method.
While using Waveplates extensively to gain Union EXP and increase SOL3 Level quickly might seem tempting, it is generally more beneficial to save resources like Asterite and Crystal Solvent for higher levels. Higher level challenges offer better rewards, reducing the amount of grinding needed. Therefore, players should focus on a few key characters at lower Union Levels. This approach helps manage Wavelength efficiently and ensures they have enough resources to upgrade weapons and characters without running low.
Where to Use Waveplates in Wuthering Waves
There are as of now, two general things players can use Waveplates for, one being theTacet Fields (World Bosses), and other being theSimulation Training, both accessible as players follow along the main storyquest before they can unlock them.
Tacet Fields and Boss Challenges require players to travel to one of the available world bosses to obtain materials for Character Ascension and Inherent Skill ascension. Players must physically go to these locations and spend 60 Waveplates each time to collect resources, allowing them to tackle up to 4 world bosses a day without replenishing by other means. Due to this limitation, it is recommended that players focus on the Tacet Field relevant to their primary DPS character. These world bosses are separated by element as of now, so characters of the same element will need the same world boss materials to ascend further. Some of the bosses will need to be unlocked by doing additional quests first before they can be farmed. On higher SOL3 level, their difficulty will significantly increase, however they will also be dropping more materials. Some of the bosses can only be defeated 3 times per week since they drop specific skill upgrade materials, and players should ensure there are no more remaining attempts by the end of the week.
Simulation Training is another method for obtaining valuable resources and is relatively easier to access. It is located in Jinzhou city, marked by a specific NPC and icon that players can Fast Travel to immediately. In Simulation Training, players can choose between simulations for Resonance Potion (Character EXP), Energy Core (Weapon EXP), or Shell Credits (the in-game currency) to gain additional quantities of these items. Each Simulation Training costs 40 Wavelenghts, allowing players to tackle them 6 times a day.
Instead of grinding specifically for Simulation Training or Tacet Fields, players should assess their characters' Ascension needs daily and prioritize accordingly based on the relevant Ascension Level. Early in the game, players can obtain Resonance Potion (Character EXP), Energy Core (Weapon EXP), and Shell Credits through quests, exploration, and the Pioneer Podcast. Therefore, focusing on Tacet Fields may be a more efficient choice for a while to gather essential Ascension materials.
It’s also worth mentioning that, unlike games likeGenshin ImpactorHonkai: Star Rail, where players need to spend energy resources on artifact or relic systems,Wuthering Wavesseparatesthis through the Echo system. This allows players to continuously track Echoes, which will drop with increased success and rarity as they fill their Data Banks, although through tacet field cleanups players can also obtain these echoes with Waveplates instead of searching around.
