Microsoft adds new games to theXbox Game Passservice on a regular basis, ranging from brand new day one titles to older games. But while new games are added toXbox Game Passall the time, games leave the service every month as well, with Microsoft confirming seven games that will be leaving Xbox Game Pass throughout the month of August 2021.
The Xbox Game Pass games leaving in August 2021 areApe Out,Crossing Souls,Darksiders Genesis,Don’t Starve: Giant Edition,Final Fantasy 7,Grand Theft Auto 5, andTrain Sim World 2020. Most of the games will be leaving Game Pass on August 15, though a specific date hasn’t been announced forGTA 5just yet. It’s possible thatGrand Theft Auto 5will also leave Game Passon August 15, but it’s also possible that it will happen on a different day this month, so fans need to hang tight for more information on that front.

However, it’s always possible thatGrand Theft Auto 5will come back to Xbox Game Pass at some point down the line. After all,Grand Theft Auto 5has left Xbox Game Pass before, only to come back at a later date. Then again, with theXbox Series X version ofGrand Theft Auto 5around the corner, maybe Rockstar Games will keep the game off Game Pass permanently to encourage more people to buy the next-gen version instead.
Another game leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2021 that fans may want to check out isDarksiders Genesis. The fourth entry in theDarksidersfranchise,Darksiders Genesisis a co-op dungeon crawling gamewith War and Strife as the playable characters, serving as a prequel to the entireDarksidersfranchise. It earned mostly positive reviews and was much better-received thanDarksiders 3, so it’s definitely worth a look for series fans.
