Xbox is celebrating the 10th anniversary ofThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntby releasing new special edition controllers, but unfortunately, they’re already out of stock.The Witcher 3took the industry by storm in 2015, quickly becoming one of the greatest RPGs ever made, in most fans' opinions. The game would see two sizable expansions,Hearts of StoneandBlood and Wine, which added even more interest to the game. WhileThe Witcher 3won’t be coming to Switch 2, it seems like Xbox is not through with Geralt’s latest adventure yet.
AfterXboxtook to X to reveal the newWitcher 3special edition controllers, both the Standard and Elite controllers sold out quickly, and it’s easy to see why. Both feature the same design, paying homage to what’s one of Geralt’s greatest adventrues. The Standard controller is priced at $79.99, while the Elite controller is $169.99. It’s unclear if Xbox will be restocking the controller, butresellers are already trying to capitalise on the sold-out item, with eBay listings already popping up at around the $200 USD mark.

The design of the controllers is stunning, making it easy to see why they sold out so quickly. Based onGeralt’s two swords inWitcher 3, the controllers feature the iconicWitcher medallion design in a black color scheme with gray and red accents. The triggers and bumpers are also textured. The controller will feature button mapping and Bluetooth technology. The right grip features the iconic bloody “III” Roman numeral logo from the game’s logo.
The Elite controller will feature thetraditional premium upgradesthat previous Xbox Elite controllers have utilized, such as adjustable-tension thumbsticks, shorter hair trigger locks, a rubberized grip, and interchangeable components. Xbox recently announced it wouldbe increasing its pricesfor controllers, consoles, and some first-party games, following concerns about tariffs and market conditions, andthese controllers are following the new recommended MSRP rates.

There have been a lot of officially licensed Xbox special edition controllers and third-party controllers. GameStop had an exclusive limited-edition Xbox/PC wireless controller forSilent Hill 2remake, too, that focused on the game’s cover art. No matter what the game is, the controllerdesigns are always really cool.
It remains to be seen if theseWitcher 3controllers will be restocked, but given how fast they sold out and how popular the game is, even 10 years later,it’s probable the controllers will be available again.
