Since the release of the Xbox series X meme, the idea of a computer in a fridge has been a joke. Microsoft even went as far as creating its ownXbox brand mini-fridge. In the latest addition to what many would say is impossible, Basically Homeless on YouTube has finished his Nvidia RTX 3090 powered mini-fridge gaming computer, though not without constant trial and error to get the build to function properly. Not all creations are so practical, playingRainbow Six Siegewith a potato controller or bar code scanner are some of the more exciting things people have created for controlling games.

That’s when it hit him. “We overclock GPUs, we overclock CPUs, we overclock RAM. Why not just overclock the refrigerator.” With a certified HVAC specialist for a dad, he took to the task of replacing the refrigerant parts of the mini-fridge with that of portable ac units. These were then overclocked with the cooling outputs ported to the back of the mini-fridge with a makeshift duct system. The remaining problem of condensation and static charge were solved with a dehumidifier, math, and a special potion to create an anti-static lining within the mini-fridge. With the fridge ready, it was time to add the hardware.
Tanking up on energy drinks, Basically Homeless began the task of adding the computer hardware to the fridge, which he reported “-too about ten times as long as normal.” Each piece had to be a custom-fabricated hole or mounted into the fridge. The hard-lined custom cooling loop was filled with the drink that got him through the whole process and would be stocked in their brand mini-fridge, G Fuel.
The finished product was a beautiful computer that housed several cans of G Fuel while Basically Homelessenjoyed high-resolution Minecraftwith his new gaming pc/mini-fridge. Many have already begun to speculate what is next for the mad gamer, who has already created so many impressive things.
