Gamers the world over have been playing through the blockbusterThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildsince its release in early March, and most critics would certainly approve of such activities given that it has shattered Metacritic records by receiving themost perfect scores ever awarded to a video game. Despite this, Nintendo seems convinced that it can make the game even better, and has gone about doing so with a new patch that allegedly fixes one of the few issues some players have had with it – the frame rate.

Known as Version 1.1.1, the developer has released the update with text that says nothing more than “adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” Setting aside the obvious fact that this is incredibly vague, players are now reporting that the frame rate post-update has improved across both Wii U and Switch versions of theBreath of the Wild.

Some players that have invested significant time into completing the latestZeldahave voiced their displeasure for the patch coming out so late, but the end result will only better the experience for those that are still actively seeking Korok Seeds and the like. WithDLC set to arrive forBreath of the Wildin the coming months, the update also means that the add-on content that arrives down the road should benefit from this as well.

It’s important to note that the patch itself clocks in at 167MB, and players won’t be able to connect to the internet to access the DLC store without downloading it. With the only trade-off being thatThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis an even more fluid experience, however, committing to the download seems like a no-brainer.
