When a series becomes as well-known asThe Legend of Zelda, it’s hard not to make comparisons when other games borrow from its winning formula. That is the case with the Zelda-likeOceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, the sequel to the equallyZelda-like title that released in 2013. Once an Apple exclusive, the sequel will now be releasing for the Nintendo Switch later this year.

Oceanhornis an action-adventure series that follows a boy with a blue tunic who travels the seas, exploring dungeons and fighting monsters. Fans ofWind Wakerwill easily see the similarities. The game has been available on Apple Arcade since July 24, 2025, but is now officially coming to the Nintendo Switch in fall 2020. Along with the announcement, a new trailer was released to provide a glimpse into how the game will look and play.

Though the series gets compared toThe Legend of Zeldaoften, it has its own distinct characteristics that make it stand out. But the familiar style of gameplay has made it fairly popular. When it released last year on Xbox One and PlayStation 4,Oceanhornsold over 1 million copiesin just a few weeks. This prompted the publisher to make it available on two more platforms afterward. After its sequel released, it ended up receiving a major update in the form of theOceanhorn 2 - Golden Edition.It isn’t clear yet if this additional content will be part of the Switch version.

If nothing else, theOceanhornseries will tide over fans who are waiting for the nextZeldatitle to release – namelyBreath of the Wild 2. Nintendo has been holding details back on the anticipated sequel, but more information could be released during the upcoming August Direct. There are a lot of theories and speculations about the game, but judging by its trailer, there is evidence thatBreath of the Wild 2could be darkerin tone than its predecessor.
